Carrera y Carrera 18K Gold 0.44 CTW Diamond and Pink Sapphire Double Horse Heads

Carrera y Carrera sculpted two horse heads in high relief across the top of this 18-karat gold band ring, set beside a pavé panel holding 0.42 carats of diamonds. The Madrid house is known for figurative goldwork like this, where the modeled metal does as much of the work as the stones. Pink sapphires sit in the eyes, the one note of color in the piece. The band is at its widest across the top and narrows toward the shank, so it sits wide and close on the finger and wears as a statement band on its own.
