Vintage 1950s 18K Gold 1.84 Carats Diamond and Pink Sapphire Rose Brooch

Petals and leaves of textured 18-karat gold curl into a full rose in this 1950s brooch, set throughout with old European and single-cut diamonds. A 0.40-carat old European cut diamond holds the center of the bloom, with a pink sapphire beside it and four baguettes set along the stem. Old European cut diamonds were shaped by hand with a small table and a high crown, and they glow softly under low light. The curved stem gives the brooch a diagonal line that sits well on a lapel or a coat collar.
