A 23 carat blue star sapphire cabochon 1980s white gold dome ring. The bezel wraps the stone fully and carries its blue right to the edge of the metal, with a princess-cut diamond set flush into each shoulder. The rays in a star sapphire come from fine rutile needles inside the stone, and they show best under a single direct light. The top of the ring has a white satin gold finish, and the bottom half has a high polish finish. The dome rises well above the finger, giving it the full profile of a cocktail ring.
