14k Yellow Gold Blue Opal Inlay Whale Tail Pendant Necklace 18"

A 14-karat yellow gold whale tail pendant holds two opal inlays, one set into each fluke. Green streaks flash through the deep blue of each stone as the pendant moves. In inlay work, each stone is cut to the outline of its gold recess and polished level with the surrounding metal. The chain passes through a hidden bail in the tail's stem, which keeps the pendant centered and lying flat, so the nautical form reads cleanly on its own.
