1920s Art Deco Vacheron Constantin Platinum 2.50CT Diamond & Onyx Cocktail Watch

A Vacheron Constantin Art Deco cocktail watch in platinum, dating to the 1920s, set with 2.50 carats of old mine and antique cut diamonds. Pavé diamonds cover the rectangular bezel and the stepped geometric shoulders, where pairs of French cut onyx draw the dark Deco lines against the platinum. Vacheron Constantin was working at the height of the platinum-and-onyx period, when a lady's dress watch was expected to read as jewelry first. The black double cord bracelet sits close against the wrist, and the signed and refinished cream dial with its Arabic numerals stays easy to read beneath the diamond frame.
