Seven antique-cut diamonds totaling 2.25 carats are prong-set across the rays of this 1950s gold starburst brooch and pendant. Polished gold rays alternate with curled scrollwork, and the largest diamond holds the center. Star and starburst motifs ran through Victorian jewelry, and the 1950s revival brought the design back. A bale lets it hang from a chain, so it wears as a pendant as easily as it pins to a lapel or collar.
