Spanning three inches wing-tip to wing-tip, this extraordinary Italian brooch depicts a phoenix in full flight — wings swept back, tail feathers trailing, head turned with a pair of vivid ruby eyes. Eighty-one single-cut diamonds, totaling approximately 1.75 carats, cascade across the wings and body in the delicate, hand-set manner of 1940s Italian goldsmithing.
The combination of warm 18K rose gold for the body and cool platinum for the diamond-set sections creates a two-tone contrast that photographs beautifully and wears even better — the bird seems to glow from within.
