Vintage 13K Gold 4.50 Carat Jade Oval Cut Cabochon and Diamond Halo Ring

An oval jade cabochon in variegated green, weighing 4.50 carats, in the center of this yellow gold halo ring from the 1950s. Round brilliant diamonds ring the stone in a single halo that follows the oval all the way around. Jade is almost always finished as a cabochon, a smooth unfaceted dome that shows the stone's color and texture. The domed center and full diamond frame give the ring a broad, high face that wears as a cocktail ring.
