Vintage 14k Gold 25 Carats Moonstone Cabochon and Sapphire Floral Brooch

Seven elongated moonstone cabochons form the petals of this 14-karat yellow gold floral brooch from the 1960s, set around a cushion-cut blue sapphire center. The moonstones carry a soft blue-white glow that drifts across each petal as the piece moves. That effect is called adularescence — light scattering between microscopic layers inside the feldspar. The gold stem curves well past the flower, so the brooch lands at an angle across a lapel or coat shoulder.
