A polished gold bar with ball finials links the two, and the pear hangs from it on a hinge, so it moves gently as you turn your head. Mother of pearl is nacre, the layered material a mollusk builds along the inside of its shell. The onyx sits flush on the lobe and the drop falls well below it, drawing a clean black-and-white line from post to point that holds its own as a statement pair.

Details:

Condition: Very Good

Era: Vintage, circa 1980s

Metal: 14K yellow gold, backings stamped 14K

Center stone(s): 2 Mother of Pearl, pear shape

Gemstones: 2 Onyx, round cabochon

Measurements: Onyx 14 mm; mother of pearl 24.50 x 13.6 mm

Setting: Bezel-set

Dimensions: 1.75 inches (44.5 mm) length

Total weight: 12.26 grams
