Vintage 14K Gold Oval Iolite & Diamond Split Shank Half Bezel Cocktail Ring

A half bezel holds an oval iolite east-west across this 14-karat white gold cocktail ring, framing the blue-violet stone top and bottom and leaving its sides open. Four small diamonds are flush-set into the bezel, two on each side of the center stone. Iolite is strongly pleochroic, so its color shifts between violet-blue and a paler, grayer tone as the viewing angle changes. The shank splits into two sculpted arms at the shoulders and carries the stone wide across the finger, giving the ring the bold profile of a statement cocktail ring.
