Vintage 14K White Gold 15ct Oval Purple Amethyst & Diamond Cocktail Ring

Four pairs of double prongs hold a deep purple oval amethyst at the center of this 14-karat white gold and diamond cocktail ring. Beneath the stone, the gallery is pierced with scrolling openwork that shows through each side of the head. The name amethyst comes from the Greek amethystos, meaning "not intoxicated." Rows of small diamonds step down both shoulders toward a grooved shank. The tall head sits high on the finger as a statement cocktail ring, and the tapered shank stays slim between the fingers.
