Vintage 14K Yellow Gold 15 carat Tsavorite & 5 Carat Diamond Lariat Necklace

Twelve oval tsavorite garnets, each framed in a halo of round brilliant diamonds, curve across this vintage 14-karat yellow gold necklace from the 1980s, with three pear-cut tsavorites falling from the center in a Y-shaped drop. The tsavorites weigh approximately 15 carats in total, with approximately 5 carats of diamonds in the halos. Their green runs from pale to deep from stone to stone. Tsavorite is the green variety of grossular garnet, named for Kenya’s Tsavo National Park. The halo stations lie close along the collarbone and the drop extends down the center, giving it the scale of a statement necklace for an open neckline.
