Vintage 14K Yellow Gold 2ct Red Garnet & Diamond Floral Halo Cocktail Ring

A four-petal diamond halo frames the oval red garnet at the center of this 14-karat yellow gold cocktail ring. Round diamonds line each petal in white-toned settings, finished with milgrain edges. The term comes from the French mille grains, "a thousand grains," for the row of tiny metal beads along the border. The garnet holds a deep wine red that brightens to redder flashes across its facets. The shank tapers toward the back, so the wide floral head fills the front of the hand while the band stays slim beneath the finger.
