Vintage 18K White Gold Turquoise Cabochon 0.35 CTW Diamond Filigree Band Ring

This 18 karat white gold ring sets ten round turquoise cabochons and diamonds into three small flowers across a wide filigree band. Each flower has a bezel-set diamond at its heart, with the turquoise gathered around it like petals. Around the flowers, the band opens into scrolls of gold wire, a filigree technique in which fine wire is bent and soldered into lacy patterns. The edges are finished in milgrain, from the French mille grains, “a thousand grains”: a row of tiny beads worked along the metal so the outline catches the light. Small diamonds set along the border add sparkle between the scrolls. The face is wide enough to cover much of the finger, then narrows to a slim shank underneath, so the ring doesn’t crowd the fingers on either side.
