Vintage 1950s Platinum Topped 14K Gold 2.50 Carat Diamond Bar Brooch Pin

A long openwork bar brooch in platinum-topped 14-karat gold, set with 2.50 carats of round brilliant and single cut diamonds and dating to the 1950s, but in the Art Deco style. A row of graduated bezel-set diamonds runs the length of the bar, linked by twisting scroll panels filled with smaller bead-set stones. Each bezel is edged in milgrain, a border of tiny metal beads whose name comes from the French for “a thousand grains.” The slim, tapered form pins horizontally at a lapel, collar, or neckline, where the full line of diamonds stays in view.
