Vintage 1960s 10K Gold Octagonal Filigree Creole Hoop Earrings

Vintage octagonal creole hoop earrings in 10-karat yellow gold, circa 1960s, with scrolled filigree filling the lower half of each frame. Leaf-patterned panels alternate with polished flat faces around the frame's crisp angled edges, and a small fleur-de-lis sits at the center of the scrollwork. In French, hoop earrings are known simply as créoles. A hinged wire passes through the ear and latches into the opposite side of the frame, so each hoop hangs closed and light on the lobe.
