Oval malachite cabochons in deep green center this pair of 13-karat gold clip-on earrings from the 1960s. Stepped gold arcs frame each stone and build outward from it, giving the fronts a sculptural, layered face. Malachite is a copper carbonate, and its green comes from the copper itself. Because they clip on, the earrings suit unpierced ears, and the lever closure keeps the wide oval fronts sitting flat against the lobe.
