A minty green jade circle frames a pierced 14-karat yellow gold dragon in this 1960s pendant. A white pearl sits just before the dragon's mouth. The pearl-chasing dragon is one of the oldest motifs in Chinese decorative art. Fine engraving picks out the scales, claws, and whiskers across the gold panel. The wide bale opens as an enhancer, so the pendant can be moved between a chain and a strand of pearls.
