Vintage 1970s Ruby and Diamond Fringe Earrings in 16K Yellow Gold

These 1970s ruby and diamond fringe earrings in 16-karat yellow gold pair approximately 1.20 carats of straight baguette rubies with approximately 1.25 carats of round brilliant diamonds. An arched cluster of diamonds sits at the lobe, with three short strands of rubies hanging beneath it. The pinkish-red rubies play against the mixed white and champagne tones of the diamonds. The baguette cut takes its name from the French word for a long, narrow loaf of bread. The fringe falls just below the lobe and holds close to the face, giving the pair the presence of a drop earring in a compact length.
