Six round rubies in vivid red cross the center band of this 18-karat yellow gold ring set from the 1980s. Round brilliant diamonds are pavé-set in a row along each of the two outer bands, framing the color on both sides. The ruby band slides free of the diamond ring and wears on its own, so the set functions as two rings in one. Banded together, the set sits close and wide on the finger for a tailored, layered look.
