Round brilliant diamonds alternate with square-cut blue sapphires across this 18-karat gold band from the 1980s, set in a continuous channel. The stones sit flush against the gold, keeping the top of the band smooth to the touch. Sapphire's blue comes from trace iron and titanium within the corundum crystal. The domed profile and tapered shank keep the ring comfortable against the hand, and its substantial scale suits it well as a men's band.
