Vintage Cartier 1960 Platinum 5.50ct Diamond Backwinding Cocktail Bracelet Watch

A Cartier diamond cocktail bracelet watch in platinum, powered by a hand-wound Swiss movement. A diamond-set bezel frames the round silvered dial, and on each side round brilliant diamonds gather around a single tapered baguette. A double row of channel-set diamonds then runs the full length of the bracelet to the clasp. Backwinding moved the crown to the caseback, which kept the sides of the case clean and uninterrupted, a refinement favored in ladies’ jewelry watches of the mid-twentieth century. Sized for a slender wrist, the supple bracelet sits close and reads as a line of diamonds with the dial at its center.
