Vintage Golden South Sea Pearl & Diamond Chandelier Earrings in 18K Gold

Golden South Sea pearls and approximately 2.0 carats of round brilliant diamonds make up these yellow gold chandelier earrings from the 1990s. Below a large pearl at the lobe, scrolling diamond branches carry two smaller pearls out to the sides, and a second large pearl hangs at the base beneath a diamond-covered cap. South Sea pearls grow in the Pinctada maxima, the largest pearl-bearing oyster, which is why they reach sizes few other pearls can. French lever backs lock each earring closed, keeping the pearl clusters steady and close to the face through an evening.
